The owners of the agency gladly took part in this event, with two of the ten fights including a Polish boxer. The amazing 22 year old Artur Szpilka (6-0, 4 KO) raised in Wieliczka, fought with David Williams from Philadelphia (6-4-1, 2 KO). The second Pole was Mariusz Wach, a 31 year old (24-0, 12 KO) hailing from Cracow, who was fighting against Kevin McBride (35-9-1, 29 KO) from Brockton, MA. Note: McBride's previous bout was against Tomasz Adamek, who had difficulty defeating McBride.
Like always, if Polish boxers are fighting in the arena then there surely won't be a lack of Polish fans. They really began making noise during the 7th fight of the night, when Artur Szpilka fought Williams. Szpilka entered the ring very loose and comfortable, even dancing to his entrance music on the way out. The fans did not even get enough time to see Szpilka in action as in the 113th second he knocked out Williams in the middleweight fight. Williams barely stood up as the referee ended the match and the arena erupted in cheers.
No one could have predicted what happened next, as the feature event also included a KO. In the fourth round Wach pounded McBride so hard in the face that he had left on a stretcher, winning the WBC International title. With his strong swing he may have even ended McBride's career. It was evident that while the crowd wanted to cheer on Wach for his sensational knockout, they were also very worried for McBride's health. Unfortunately this is what comes with the sport.
We congratulate both Poles for winning and are glad that we were able to sponsor their fights.
