During this beautiful pilgrimage we will visit: Rome, Dubrovnik with Mostar, stay 3 nights in Medjugorje, and on the way to Vatican we will explore Monte Cassino, Lanciano and Manoppello. In San Giovanni Rotondo we will learn of St. Padre Pio.

Day 1 (Tue. 9/10):    Depart Newark

Depart United Airlines at 5:30pm. Nonstop flight to Rome. Dinner and breakfast served on board.

2. (Wed. 9/11):    Arrival to Rome & flight to Dubrovnik (Croatia)

Arrival at the airport in Rome at 7:45am. After passport check-in and luggage claim,  flight to Dubrovnik at 11:15am. Arrival at 12:40pm. Short drive to hotel. After resting we will begin the city tour of beautiful Dubrovnik – a Roman city built on stone and known as the pearl of the Adriatic Sea. Without a doubt it is a gem of southern Dalmatia. We will see city walls, towers, fontains, fortresses and many more. In the evening opening dinner in Meditrranean style and overnight at hotel. (B,D)

3. (Thu. 9/12):    Dubrovnik - Mostar - Medjugorje/Bosnia

After breakfast we will take a 3 hour ride to Medjugorje with sightseeing Mostara, one of the most beautiful towns of old Yugoslavia and now Bosnia and Hercegovina. It is a 16th century town built on the banks of the Naretwa river connected by a famous stone bridge known as „old bridge”. After checking in at our hotel in Medjugorje, we will tour the town and religious center. After Holy Mass we will return to our hotel for dinner. (B,D) 

4-5. (Fri-Sat. 9/13-14):  Medjugorje

Medjugorje has been visited by 22 million pilgrims from all over the world. We will spend 2 days here for sightseeing and religious practices. Pilgrimage to Apparition Hill. We will drive there through a steep trail stopping at each station of the Way of the Cross. We will walk to the top of the hill to see Blue Cross.  Evening for participation in private and group religious activity. Breakfast, dinner and overnight at our hotel. (B,D)

6. (Sun. 9/15):    Medjugorje - Split - flight to Rome

After breakfast we will drive to Split to sightsee this beautiful Roman city. Drive to airport for departure at 3:55 pm, arriving in Rome at 5:05 pm. Transfer to our hotel in the center of Rome. Dinner at our hotel. (B,D)

7. (Mon. 9/16):   Vatican & Rome

All day for walking tours of the Vatican and Rome. By noon, we will visit the Vatican Museum with the Sistine Chapel and the Basilica of Saint Peter. After a short rest, we will walk through Old Rome with Piazza Navona with Bernini's "Four Rivers" fountain, then visit the Pantheon - an architectural gem and the only ancient remains standing today, the Trevi Fountain and after crossing the Venetian Square we will reach the Capitol - regarded as the spiritual, political and cultural heart of old Rome. From the observation deck on the Capitol Hill we will see the Roman Forum and then we will reach the most famous amphitheater in the world - the Coliseum, with the shackles of Saint Peter church next to it. Return to our hotel for the night and dinner. (B,D)

8. (Tue. 9/17):     Rome - Monte Cassino - San Giovanni Rotondo

After breakfast, transfer by bus to San Giovanni Rotondo - the city of Saint Padre Pio. On the way, we will stop at the cementery of Polish soldiers in Monte Cassino, where we will lay flowers and pray for those buried there. We continue our journey through Southern Italy to the town where Saint Padre Pio lived and died. Dinner & ovenight in our hotel. (B,D)

9. (Wed. 9/18):        San Giovanni Rotondo -  Saint Padre Pio

Most of the day spent on sightseeing the Basilica of San Giovanni Rotondo, where the tomb of Saint Padre Pio is located. Time for individual prayers and our Holy Mass. In the afternoon, a trip to Monte Saint Angelo, where in the carved grotto there is a church in which Archangel Michael is said to have appeared in 490 and 492. Dinner and overnight in our hotel. 10. (Thu. 9/19):     San Giovanni Rotondo - Lanciano - Manoppello - Rome

After breakfast, we will drive to Lanciano - where in the church of St. Francis the evidence of one of the first Eucharistic miracles is kept. The Miraculous Host is a subject to complex research which showed that "The body is a real body. The blood is real blood." We continue our journey by stopping in the town of Manoppello, where, since 1638, the Santuario di Volto Santo Shroud Manoppello has been stored and showed in a glass-walled monstrance. The material on which the image of Jesus' face is located is a fine linen, and it is characterized by the fact that it is impossible to paint on it. We continue our journey to Rome. A farewell dinner at our hotel. (B,D)

Trip Reservation

In order to secure a reservation for this trip each participant must pay a deposit of $500 and complete and sign a trip participation form. For guided group trips the number of space is limited – reservations are accepted in the order that they are received in. Full payment is required 60 days before departure. If the departure date is already within 60 days, then full payment is required immediately. If payment is not made in this time frame, the trip price as well as a spot reserved on the trip are not guaranteed.

Trip Cancellation

Any cancellation by a client must be made in writing and be acknowledged by the company in writing (mail/email/fax). The date on which the request to cancel is received by the company or its agents will determine the cancellation fees applicable. The cancellation fees are expressed hereafter as a percentage of the total tour price, excluding insurance.

Cancellation 90 or more days before the trip: return of deposit, less $20 for office fees.
Cancellation 89-60 days before departure: Loss of entire deposit.
Cancellation 59-31 days before departure: 50% of cost of services booked.
Cancellation less than 30 days before departure: 100% of cost of services booked.

Cancellation of trip by Classic Travel

Classic Travel reserves the right to cancel a trip under any circumstances. Cancellation cannot be made under 60 days to trip departure date, except under circumstances of "Force Majeure," which our agency has no influence or control over.

When it comes to trip cancellation, the client has the following options:

Use the trip deposit payment towards another trip as a deposit or partial payment (if the amount is larger than $500).
Receive a full refund of the paid deposit for the canceled trip

Classic Travel is not responsible for any costs incurred to the clients in preparing for the trip.

Required Documentation

Trip participants must be in possession of a valid passport, any applicable visas, and their insurance policy. Passport must be valid 6 months past the return date. It is highly recommended that participants have at least three photocopies of these documents. The trip participant accepts full responsibility for obtaining all such documents and is responsible for any adverse consequences resulting from missing or defective documentation. At the time of booking Classic Travel will advise on what documents are required for your trip.

Travel Documents Issued by Classic Travel

No later than two weeks prior to departure, all trip participants will receive via mail and/or email a packet that contains flight tickets (if purchased through Classic Travel), a detailed trip itinerary, additional information & brochures, baggage tags, and a list of suggested items to bring.

Travel Insurance

Insurance is not included in the cost of this trip. Medical insurance is mandatory for all trips and it is up to the trip participant to choose an insurance package that fits their needs. Prior to the commencement of the trip, Classic Travel will request all trip participants to provide a copy of their travel insurance certificate. Medical insurance should cover accident and sickness expenses and emergency evacuation.

We also highly recommend that cancellation insurance is purchased. This will allow you to recover your costs in case you must cancel the trip due to an unforeseen circumstance (sickness or death of yourself or a close family member, extreme weather conditions, terrorism, loss of employment, etc).

Travel insurance can be purchased through Classic Travel - our plans are available to all our clients regardless of nationality and residency. We offer travel medical insurance as well as more comprehensive insurance packages that cover trip cancellation, trip interruption, travel delay, baggage loss, and more. During the reservation process we will provide you with our insurance options and rates.
